After each hand is completed, the dealer button moves clockwise to the next active player. This player will be considered “the dealer” for that hand. In this way each player has equal opportunities to be in early, middle and late position.

Before the start of the game, Partypokergenerates a fresh deck of cards for the hand. We use a single deck of cards for each hand of poker, where a deck refers to 52 cards (excluding jokers). Partypoker uses a Random Number Generator (RNG) to shuffle each deck of cards for the hand.
The First round of Texas Hold’em:

The two players immediately to the left of the dealer button place blind bets to start the pot (similar in principle to an ante). The player to the left of the dealer button posts the “small blind” (usually equal to half the lower stake. At Partypokerthe small blind is rounded down to the nearest dollar. However, as it is just a guideline, the amount of the small blind could be set slightly differently).
The player to the left of the small blind is required to post the “big blind,” equal to the lower stake limit. All the blinds in Hold’em poker are considered live bets and the players who posted them will have the option of checking, calling, raising or folding when the betting returns to their position. Remember, the dealer button (and therefore the small blind and the big blind) move around the table clockwise after each hand, so each player will post the blind bets over time.

Once the blinds have been placed, two secret cards are dealt to each player (“hole cards”), after which the first betting round starts. The player to the left of the player who placed the big blind starts the betting for this round.
Each player now has the option to place his bets in the first round, which is set at the lower limit of the stakes structure. (For example in a $10/$20 Hold’em game, the value of each bet is $10 for the first round. Therefore, when a user makes the move “bet,” this is equal $10, and “raise” is $20…a raise includes a call on the previous bet placed and one additional bet.)
Bets can be placed by playing Bet, Call or Raise. These options are available depending on the action taken by the previous player. Each player always has the option to fold. The first player to act has the option to bet, call or raise. Subsequent players have the option of calling or raising. To call is to bet the same amount as the previous player has bet. To raise is to match the previous bet and increase the bet.
Every player participating in the hand should have equal amounts of money bet as the previous players (includes bets, calls and raises). Until the time all the players have placed equal amounts in the pot, the betting will continue. There is a limit on the amount and the number of bets a player can place during a betting round (four bets for limit games).
After the first round of betting is over, the Flop (the first three community cards) is dealt. The community cards are common to all the players participating in the hand.

Party Poker Download

Free Poker

Free poker is the name of the game these days as the poker players are coming online by the thousands daily. These ambitious new players may not be professional poker players but they are very savvy and picky about where they play. The internet has brought about a new way of thinking to an old school game.

Free Poker

In the early days and really just a few years ago....there was no such thing as Free Poker, roulette or any other sort of gambling. In fact it cost you money just to play for fun on the video machines. Those of you who played as early as 10 years ago know exactly what i mean. The internet has brought about a certain knowledge almost amongst everyone, that if you look hard enough you can find just about anything for free on the internet. Online Poker and especially Free Poker is no exception. The online poker rooms quickly realized that if they wanted players they had to be competitive because there is always another poker room around the corner offering something better.

Free Poker in Vegas

Las Vegas as Im sure is no surprise, actually paved the way for this sort of thinking by constantly competing against each other by offering various "free" comps depending on how much money you won or lost as to what kind of free stuff you get. You get free drinks, free suites, free dinner and entertainment but have you ever received the opportunity to play free poker? This phenomenon only exists in cyberspace my friend and is one advantage to playing poker online rather than land based casinos.

You can practice for free as long as you want but remember to keep it real if you are really practicing and not just killing time. Its tough to play poker the exact same way with real money as you do with "play" money. If you wouldnt raise 25 grand on the river with 10,4 offsuited then dont do it with play money either. Consistent play is vital to winning at poker and of course......It doesnt make a difference what your poker face looks like when you are playing at home in your boxers with a rum and coke in front of you cause on the net....We all look the same!

Free Poker

Online Poker and Spammers. Domain Registrars Could Help the Problem

With the explosion of online poker, more and more people are looking for a free ride on the search engines. This has brought thousands of spammers to the world of online poker. These lazy spammers refuse to build a quality website and instead just bombard the web and mainly blogs with tens of thousands of links to climb the rankings. The bad news is that it works and its nearly impossible to compete without following suit. Dont believe me....just do a search in yahoo for anything related to poker and you will notice the same bullshit sites over and over. Some of them have 30,000 to 40,000 backlinks all from blogs and message boards and the page used to get the rankings is no longer there...its usually just a redirect to their affiliate site. Of course their whois info is always forged as is the email address. The ones who are really allowing them to hide are the registrars because you know they had to pay for their domain somehow. If they paid by check or credit card then whatever address used for payment should be the only information allowed to be used in the whois directory. If their name and address doesnt match their check or credit card then you dont get the domain. Dont say you would lose business either cause 95 % of all domain owners are NOT spammers. The other 5% are the ones making us all suffer. That would slow this bullshit way down because they do not want to be found.. You dont need no follow tags and all the blacklist plugins. You stop it at the source or the root so to speak. One other solution is simply for the search engines to limit how many back links they use to "rank" a website. How hard would it be for the algorithim to consider all sites equal after a reasonable number of incoming links. Ranks would be based more on content than links, or simply dont count links at all from blogs or message boards. It should be painfully obvious to the search engines that a site with 39,000 incoming links is a full blown spammer. How long would it take to post to 39,000 blogs one at a time?? Well....if you did 10 posts a day and were easily able to find ten different blogs or message boards daily (not an easy task in itself) it would only take 3,900 days or appx 10.6 YEARS Who says that?? I say that.....are you listening registrars?? How bout you.. search engines. Can you hear me? This is a simple solution to a huge problem. At least force them to build quality sites and get their back links ONE at a time like the rest of us!

Now that ive gotten that off my chest i can sleep well tonight knowing how easy problems can be solved when politics aren't involved

Poker

<link rel='related' href='http://www.ebugs.biz' title='Online Poker and Spammers. The scary part about this whole situation is the fact that we really dont know much about these creatures. If poker bots are already widely known who is to say that the poker rooms themselves arent using them to pad their own bottom line. This sounds way to tempting to me. How much more money would the online poker rooms rake in from having their own poker bots sit in on some Poker Games and blast some newbies. This question was posed on
>Yahoo Search Blog

The bottom line is still the same...A search engine will never be able to answer a question unless (1) A human has already answered it (2) they have also written a very well structured website or blog that just happens to have the "question you just asked" strategically placed as keyword phrases throughout the site AND (3) the human who knows the answer and built the website or blog is willing to pay .49 per click to show you the answer to the question you just asked. Makes sense to me.

I have tried this for 2 years now by putting together a phrase that never gets any action as far as search engine popularity like "let's play some world poker tour in Alabama" then use this very same title on a page that is already indexed for "world poker tour" in all the sites including google, msn and yahoo just to see if my page comes up after its been recrawled. Google...not even in the top 100 after 60 days. Yahoo has been the best with it usually in the top 20 as quick as 30 days, with msn a close second coming in the top 40 sites. This is obviously just my own tiny experiment with no-one knowing what i'm doing except me but..... the results have always been the same.

The answer to the question is I believe yahoo is my friend and google isnt ....but i cant prove it!
World Poker Tour Answers

World Series Poker

Free entry to 2005 world series poker tournament of your choice. The world poker tour and world series of poker is growing sooo fast that networks can hardly believe it. When I first started marketing partypoker.com before the world poker tour ever appeared on the travel channel they were advertising 5,000 players online. In less than 2 years they now have 70,000 poker players online at any given time. Back in those days my competition was virtually zero and i was consistently ranked in the top 3 positions in all of the search engines. I still rank higher than most of the popular poker rooms but the spammers have slowly taken over the search engines. I mean at least half of the sites higher than mine don't even have a page ,you are automatically redirected to their affiliate link. Am i complaining you ask?? Hell yeah i am, i work hard on my site to constantly improve and provide fresh content only to lose out to spammers and search engines that consistently give them high rankings. I'm not talking about quality sites but rather sites built specifically to trick the search engines. Forget about enjoying what you are reading because there is NO content whatsoever just a bunch of strategically placed keywords and a page full of affiliate links.

Poker was my main stay for a while, i could count on making a certain amount of money every month just from search(s) for my main keywords World Poker Tour, World Series Poker and Online Poker now however i have to resort to a second job at night just to take care of my children and not lose my house (a modest house by the way...not some mansion on the hill) The poker world has changed for good i guess but it didnt have to be that way. Just like everything else on the internet as products rise in popularity so do the scumballs that force them down your throat. I'm sure yall still get the email trying to sell viagra so you know what i mean. If there's a dime to be made somewhere spammers will fight for it. I guess my problem is 2 fold...first i'm starving and second they are ruining the good reputation of all of the small websites that actually are legitimate and try to give quality information (like mine of course)

So exactly how much money is going to poker every year? 3 years ago it was in the millions, now it's well into 7 billion yeah BILLION dollar a year business . I'm sure it will grow even more in 2005 as a result of the tv shows growing more and more popular. This blog is just my way to vent my frustrations about the growing world of online poker and the pain and profit it creates. I cant vent to my poker customers obvioulsy so i do it here...arent you glad?? Welcome to the world of free commerce and America!

World Poker Tour

Can A Ping Really Help Your Blog Get Top Search Engine Rankings

Seriously....this pinging thing seems to work although i dont understand the technical side of how it works to send traffic for my world poker tour and world series of poker blog sites based on the wild world of online poker and the business it creates. Blogging is exploding along with my poker traffic from around the world simply because i write about poker several times a week. I mean who would have thought ping would bring traffic?? It literally blows my poker mind! The world wide web will catch on to this quickly i'm sure and the search engines are probably already putting tools in place to stop this phenomenon but who cares...........just do it. Play poker, win at poker and make money playing poker. Shana Hiatt has parlayed her charm and poker popularity into a spot as the newest spokesperson for the world's biggest Poker Showdown at Party Poker.com.

Hiatt assumes her role just in time for PartyPoker.com's big event, PartyPoker.com Million III, a record-breaking $3.5-million tournament aboard Holland America's luxurious ms Ryndam during a Mexican Riviera cruise, March 14-18. The event will draw more than 500 players, vying for a coveted $1 million first prize. Players may win their way into the PartyPoker.com Million III by playing preliminary qualifying tournaments at PartyPoker.com.

For the past two years, Shana Hiatt, has been the elegant guide to the exciting and glamorous world of high stakes poker on the World Poker Tour, introducing viewers to the exotic resorts, the unique lifestyle of poker players and esoteric facts about the game. But Hiatt is more than just a TV show host. A talented actress, dancer and acclaimed model, she has carved out a career that combines both her beauty and brains.

Raised mostly in Tabernacle New Jersey, near Philadelphia, Hiatt spent her formative years traveling around the country as an "Army brat." But that traveling ignited a wanderlust that has been a dominant theme in her life. During her youth, another interest also began to take root. At eight, she was transfixed in front of the television set, watching newscasts, studying news broadcasters, convinced she wanted a career as a television news reporter.

After a stellar high school career as a champion lacrosse and field hockey player--and a cheerleader--Hiatt entered Burlington County College to study broadcast journalism. But she got sidetracked when she began modeling on the side, and registered instant success. After securing a well-respected agent, Hiatt landed an opportunity to model in Milan. That in turn led to other European modeling jobs on the runways of Spain and Paris, fulfilling some of Hiatt's love for travel. Returning to the states, she was selected to be Miss Hawaiian Tropic USA, making personal appearances for the company around the U.S. While attending a fundraiser in Hawaii to help fund shelters for battered women, she met her future husband Jimmy, who encouraged her to rekindle her interest in working in front of the camera.

Embarking for Hollywood, Hiatt was approached by agents attracted to her bubbly personality. By then she had made the decision that she wanted to work in entertainment news, which she felt fit her personality better than hard news coverage. Soon she was landing hosting roles on E! Entertainment's "Wild On," an adventure series filmed in South Africa, the "Making of The Fourth Tenor", "The Baywatch Tennis Tour" and "Dish on Demand." Her big break came along with the "The World Poker Tour," and she is seen weekly on The Travel Channel as the WPT's guide to the world of poker. Now she indulges in her whim to travel, going with the WPT crew to Paris, Aruba, Las Vegas and, of course, the Mexican Riviera with the PartyPoker.com Million III.

Hiatt will make personal appearances in behalf of PartyPoker.com and help the site with attracting newcomers to online poker. Launched in August 2001, PartyPoker.com is the world's largest online multi-player poker room offering players a safe, secure and friendly environment to play poker. With more than one million satisfied users, PartyPoker.com is the market leader in the popular and fast growing online poker games market. PartyPoker.com is fully licensed and regulated by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission, Quebec, Canada. The site typically hosts more than 35,000 simultaneous players playing an assortment of live classic poker games including Texas Hold 'Em, Omaha Hi/Low, and Seven Card Stud and single and multi-table tournaments
World Poker Tour....Play For Free

Free Stuff for Business owners and Webmasters

Freebies

Free Texas Holdem Poker...Learn How To Win at Online Poker

Watching and learning from your fellow players is absolutely critical to winning at online poker. There are signs you need to look for

Here are a few specific signs to watch for

· An impatient player…usually this signifies a player with a good poker hand

· A change in behavior…if a player has been sitting stiff for most of the game
and losing and all of a sudden lightens up, he could have a good poker hand

· A player who shows obvious disappointment…usually blew their draw or key
card(s) they were looking for

· A player who shuffles or flips his cards around usually has nothing

· Any player who flashes one of his hole cards is blowing smoke or bluffing!

· A player with a big mouth is sign of weakness. If this
player gets quiet watch out! This is especially true for texas holdem poker

How to know when to call a bluff

This is how you know when to call a bluff

· If the pot is large, many players who normally wouldn’t bluff will probably do so

· If a player throws his chips on the table with force, he may be bluffing.

· Players who stare at the flop most likely missed their card and will try to bluff.

· A player who covers his mouth after betting is usually bluffing

· If the player is hesitating, call his bluff.

To bluff or not to bluff

· When you have a suited Ace-King

· You definitely need to be aggressive when playing against professional players

· In games with big stakes like no limit texas holdem

· When the table gets down to 2 or 3 players, it is more to your advantage to bluff

· When you’re on a hot-streak players will give you the benefit of the doubt

Click on the link below to download some free poker software, just open a play account and practice with other players first. It wont cost you anything to practice! You will find out in the next post..............till then

Free poker Downloads

Free Poker Strategy & Tips

The 7 Most Common Poker Mistakes

Time and time again people tend to make the same mistakes when it comes
to playing poker. If you can learn to avoid most or all of these most common
mistakes you will be on your way to becoming a money making machine

1. Playing too fast – If you act to fast and are not thinking clearly,
you could potentially miss something that you might otherwise not miss.

2. Playing too many hands – I made this mistake when I first started
playing poker.I would stay in regardless of my hand. I’d keep hoping to get
better cards, but it rarely happens! Learn when to fold; you don’t have
to play every hand.

3. Not watching the table – Don’t get too wrapped up in your own hand,
you’ve got to pay attention to what’s going on with the other players. You
should watch the cards that are being thrown down on the table.

4. Showing emotion – Never show emotion at a poker game. I’m sure
you’ve heard the term, “poker face”. Well, that’s what you need to wear at the game.

5. Falling in love with High Cards – Inexperienced players tend to fall
in love with high cards, even if they only have one! The pros know not to get
excited with one high card. Novices will tend to not pay attention to the board
when they get a high card.

6. Playing small Pairs – Another common mistake of beginning poker
players. They get a pair of 3’s (just an example) and hold on trying to get
three-of-a-kind.The odds are slim that you will catch trips.

7. Watch your opponents body language – I cannot emphasize this
point enough! Any successful poker player has developed some sort of strategy
for quickly reading their opponents actions. Master this and you’ll be on
your way to poker success

Texas Holdem

1. Raise to eliminate players or to gain information…The weak players will usually fold.

2. Determine the point value of your cards by adding them up. Count Aces as 12,
Kings as 11, and the other cards what their face value is. Think seriously about betting if your cards add up to 21 or 22.

3. Play an Ace if your other card is 10 or higher.

4. When a bet is made on the River, try and guess what the players hole cards are
and what possible hand he has. Once you see the cards you will see if you’ve
underestimated or overestimated. Its a good way to see if you should be folding or calling in these situations.

5. If you have an Ace and another card of similar suit, you have a possible hand. ex: A,9 spades

6. Play the flop if you believe you have the best hand or have drew to the best hand
(best hand in your opinion compared to other players you’ve been reading)

7. Think about folding if a single opponent raises you and you’re playing him head up…the odds are most likely on his side, but not always. Practice will tell you when to fold and when to stand

Ready to chase your million dollar prize??//?
Free poker downloads

World Poker Tour

Basics For Winning Poker Tournaments

Real basic stuff, but everybody has to start somewhere

Deuces – A pair of two’s
Flop – The first three community cards turned face up in a Hold’em or
Omaha game.
Fold – To throw down your cards and get out of the game for that
particular hand
Hole Cards - Cards that are dealt face down.Kicker – The highest card in your hand that does not help make a straight, flush, fullhouse or pair.
Limit – The maximum betting amount set for that game or handPot – The betting pool or in other words, all the money that is on the
line or at stake.
Raise – Placing a bet higher than the previous bet placedRiver - The fifth and final community card dealt face up in a hold’em
or Omaha game.
Trips - Three-of-a-kindTurn – The fourth community card dealt face up in a hold’em or Omaha game.
WSOP – The world series of poker
WPT- World poker Tour

How to rank poker hands

Poker Hands are ranked simply by the order of how likely,
statistically, you are to be dealt a particular poker hand in five cards. The less likely you are to
be dealt a pokerhand in 5 cards, the higher it ranks on the poker hand scale. Here is a list ranked from highest to lowest

Royal Flush-There are 2,598,960 different ways to be dealt five cards from a deck of 52. Only four of these hands are a royal flush.A royal flush must be 5 cards ofthe same suit (spades, clubs, diamonds, or hearts) AND containa 10, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace.This is the mother of all hands. This hand is the highest of thestraight flush hands.

Straight Flush-A straight flush must meet BOTHof two criteria:All cards must be the same suit. All cards must be in sequential order. (for example 8, 9, 10, J, Q all hearts.)

Four-of-a-kind-Four of a kind is simply four cards of the same rank. For example, four kings, or four jacks.

Full house- This hand consists of two things:three cards of one rank and two cards of another rank. The higher your three of a kind are, the better your full house poker hand is. The hand shown is sometimes called“nines over fives”

Flush-A flush poker hand is simply 5 cardsall of the same suit (spades, clubs, hearts, or diamonds) that is not also a straight. The strength of a flush is determined by the highest ranked card in the hand.

Three-of-a-kind(a.k.a. trips”)- is three cards of the same rank.

Two pair- is two separate pairs of cards each having the same rank.
Pair (two -of-a-kind)-This hand is simply where you hold two cards with the same number.

High Card-A high card hand is a one that cannot make any of the above hands. It is named by the highest card in the hand.

World Poker Tour
